LinkedInEngineering Leader & Indie App Developer · Boulder, CO
Nick is a hands-on engineering leader with deep roots in digital health and education. By day he's a technical lead at Rosetta Stone, currently driving a ground-up rewrite of the consumer app across mobile and web. Over his career he has held roles from developer to CTO at startups and large companies alike.
Outside of work, Nick runs Nimbus Peak Solutions — a solo app studio where he ships products that solve problems he has personally run into. He also co-hosts the Dyslexia Journey podcast and YouTube channel, which grew out of his own family's experience and now reaches tens of thousands of families (280K+ YouTube views, 52K+ podcast downloads). And he advises early-stage startups on architecture, hiring, and technical strategy.
Prior to Nimbus Peak Solutions, Nick shipped several iOS and Android apps professionally across roles in digital health and education. Selected work still live in the App Store:
Nick is a co-author of Professional C++ and OpenSolaris Bible, has taught programming at the college level, and holds several patents. His core stack includes React Native, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.
The Company
Nimbus Peak Solutions, LLC
Nimbus Peak Solutions is an independent app studio based in Boulder, Colorado. The company was founded on a simple idea: the best software comes from building something you actually need yourself.
Every app under the Nimbus Peak umbrella starts with a real, personal problem — then gets refined into something polished enough to be worth sharing. The focus is on thoughtful design, genuine utility, and attention to the details that make an app feel right.
Current products include Nimbus Migraine, a web app for tracking migraines and identifying triggers, and I Was There, a mobile app for live music fans coming soon.
